A Boy's Dream

Hey everyone! It's Momo here! Thank you so much for all of the support and love through these past posts! (K-drama amino friends, you know who you are <3) This post, I will post yet another short story I wrote. I hope that you will enjoy this post!

I thought it was a dream. I don’t usually dream this vividly, no less sweetly, but I guess there’s a first for everything. My name is Lucan Mariland and I was born and raised to become an important figure in the army. I yearned to please my father, the governor of the Academy I attended, but that didn’t work out well at all. In fact, to make a long story short, my only best friend, was branded a traitor and thrown out of the Academy because of my foolishness. I couldn’t handle the situation, not only because I was only 15 at the time, but also because I knew that I was too scared to face my father. So what did I do, only 15 years old at the time? I ran away. I took off into the forest in search of a mentor who could continue my wizardry education and to regain my bearings from the trauma. I trained hard with my mentor, determined to fight against the evil of the government and of Oliver, the infamous leader of a corrupt kingdom who is constantly causing mutiny. Anyway, while I was still at the Academy, I met another friend besides my best friend. She was different. Unique. Intelligent. As if my life couldn’t get more interesting, we were set off on a journey to rescue her parents from an unusual spell and also her father’s kingdom who was in a political mess. Her name is Maurie. And my dream was about her. I can still remember nearly every detail about the dream, except for some blurry parts every now and then; and now I’m taking time to write about it because I don’t want to forget. Maurie and I were sitting high above the houses and trees in the sky, listening to the trees sing to the wind’s rhythm and the birds finding their way back to their hungry babies. We watched the stars dangle in the sky above us and pretended to catch them and put them in a jar. She called it the “Jar of Dreams.” She was wearing a long blue dress that swayed against her ankles and a necklace with a small, white glowing sphere that looked like she picked a star from the sky and strung it on a silver chain. Pretty white lace bordered the hem of her dress and she wore a crown of beautiful wildflowers that made her hair stick up a bit, but I didn’t mind and I don’t think she did either. We liked the airy feeling of the clouds that tickled our feet and of the air that blew past us, through her long hair and pretty dress. She didn’t shiver from the chilly air, but looked at me and I began to see the corners of her mouth lift a little as if nothing was wrong. I held her hand. And I’m not sure what gave me the urge to, but the feeling of her small hand in mine gave me assurance as if she didn’t have to talk to me to comfort me. It was a sense of belonging that I had just figured out lately and I’m not sure how I came to be like this, but for some reason, I can’t explain it. Then it ended just like that. I awoke and found myself calm and rested on my bed. I relaxed my head back on my pillow and thought about my dream for at least half an hour before I got out a pen and paper to jot down all the details about it. Then, I heard a small knock on my door and before I knew it, I saw Maurie in my doorway. She was smiling like a little girl, with dirty barefeet and a long blue dress with lace on its hem. A white sphere was strung on a silver chain around her neck and I thought I saw a few flowers sticking in her hair that looked like she was just playing in a flower bush. I rubbed my eyes and threw back my warm covers. Was I dreaming? It doesn’t matter anyway, it was a good dream.
