Wednesday Pt. 2

Hey everyone!

I'm sorry for not giving an intro in my last post, but as you might have guessed, I'll be doing a short series on this new bookish thing called "Wednesday!" I hope that you are enjoying reading through it and that you are having a great week!

Much love and keep dreaming,

Momo

As Anna realized that she didn't have enough energy to talk to Marlene anyways, she got up from her chair and left, feeling somewhat disappointed. After all, she was looking for a place that would be empty, as if that would be possibly at a crowded university. As she was shuffling her feet to her next class, she realized that even as she was walking nearly in formation with the rest of the sleepy after lunch crowd, she felt quite lonely. It's as if other people bounced off her like a child trying to force the wrong ends of a magnet together. But she didn't care much about it anyways, right?

In her next class, she felt herself falling into daydream after daydream, wondering why people can't seem to care about "Wednesday" anymore. She even caught a quick glimpse of the train's sparkly letters as she was staring out the dusty window. A snowflake or two danced past the window, reminding everyone that spring was still trying to fight off the bitterness of winter. Anna loved the winter time. She could disappear behind layers of sweaters and coats and quickly hide her face under a big scarf if she wanted to avoid talking to people. She loves the snow and the cold feeling of it through her glove reminds her that though everyone gets cold in the winter time, that the small warmth of body heat has the power to make the heart feel warm too. But now that it's springtime, she can look out at the blossoming flowers and be prompted to be a little more happy.

After school, Anna decided not to take the train home, not because she didn't want to ride "Wednesday," but because she felt the need to stretch her legs and get lost in the world of her favorite ballads and melodies playing in her earbuds. She even bought a blueberry pastry on the way just to cheer herself up and as she felt the warmth of hot coffee in her hands, she felt a smile steal away the sadness on her face. Before she decided to head back home, she welcomed herself into another coffee shop and sat down with her school computer opened before her. Anna has always been found of writing and letting her fingers quickly press the buttons on her computer felt like she was pouring her heart upon it. After she had properly let her stress flow out of her system, she closed her laptop and watched the San Fransisco people as they walked by. Each person is uniquely different from the next, and it's crazy to watch how they all seem to be jealous of each other, copying trend after trend and using social media language.

"Hey, stranger," Tyler, Marlene's brother sat on the stool next her, " what are you doing here?"

Anna had no intention of talking to Tyler, so she faked a small smile and said, "Nothing much." She turned her head in disappointment and played with the change from her purchase in her pocket.

Tyler noticed her change of attitude, "well, I was just going to ask, could you help me?"

"Help you?" Anna turned her head in curiosity.

"Yeah, it's about Wednesday, actually." Tyler looked down at his hands for a moment, sighed, and then met Anna's eye contact, "you know, you're not the only one who's worried about the train, Anna."

Anna didn't expect him to ask her about Wednesday, no less to have a conversation with her. "What's going on?"

"Well," Anna could sense worry in Tyler's voice, "I think that she's dying."

"I mean, " Anna tensed her shoulders, " I knew that...Well, 'cause, I thought we all knew...."

"You..." Tyler paused, "You knew that?"

Anna nodded, "of course. Why do you think I'm always having meetings with the teachers everyday?" She took a sip from her coffee mug as if this was no big deal.

"Well then, come with me. " Tyler stepped down from the high stool and looked at her with anticipation.

"Where?" Anna remained seated.

Tyler sighed, "Have you not been paying attention to this whole conversation?" Tyler nodded his head to the door, "Let's go to Wednesday."
