#PutYourselfIntoADramaChallenge Part 3:That Cute Little Antique Shop Girl

Hey all! Here's my latest edition of this challenge of my new story! I hope that you all enjoy this!

Much love and keep dreaming,

Momo

I was pleased to hear the school bell ring this afternoon. I had been thinking all day about approaching Marisa after school, and finally convinced myself that I was going to really do it this time. I daydreamed of us at a park, writing in our blog and taking pictures of the sunset. I thought of how I would take her to my favorite place in that park that my mom and I used to sit at. I imagined the sun spreading the last few rays on our faces as the clouds began to show colors of pink, orange, and purple. Laughing together, we would think of our old high school days as we flipped through our old diaries and journals. Maybe I would buy us a quick cup of coffee from the small market nearby and perhaps I would even surprise her with a small strawberry cheesecake that we would happily share as we simply enjoyed the colors and sounds of night. All these daydreams that I have may seem silly, but as someone who may have found a friend who could understand them, it is one of the most exciting feelings I have ever experienced.

As I headed out the door and went down that familiar alleyway to her shop, my heart started to beat faster and faster. I slowed my pace as I began to doubt myself, but then gained confidence as I neared her shop. Then, just as I had imagined what would have happened in a drama, Marisa stepped out of the door. Her small black boots skipped down each step as if she had a good day. This is a good time to introduce yourself! I thought.

“Excuse me.” I stuttered. Marisa tilted her head up slowly to gaze into my eyes. I didn’t notice before how pretty her eyes seemed as she looked my way. They were a unique dark grey that reminded me of when the night began to slowly show its stars.

“Can I help you, sir?” She asked timidly.

I calmed myself before I replied. “I really like your shop…” I began to get distracted as I began to lose track of my words. “I was wondering if I could see it one of these days since it closes before I get off of school…”

Her eyes shifted to the side awkwardly, “But couldn’t you visit before your school starts, sir?”

“Well, you see, my school starts before your shop opens…” Realizing that I was asking much, I changed my mind. “But it’s ok, I can always visit on the weekends…” I said, even though I was too busy on the weekends.

“Are you sure, sir?” her eyes met mine and my heart skipped a beat.

Nervously rubbing my hands together I replied, “What do you mean, ma’am?”

“I don’t mean to sound frank, but I noticed that you pass by my shop nearly every day after your school, I guess…” She folded her hands. “I’m sorry sir, I have to go now. Thank you for passing by!” She began to walk away.

“Thank you!” I stuttered. She noticed me? I almost thought aloud. I began to jump and down in excitement as I felt as if the world was a much brighter place now. I secretly watched her shuffle her small feet to the bus stop and stood there for a while, in a dazed state. That night, I replayed our conversation over and over again in my head. I celebrated that night with an extra cup of coffee and a bigger cup of ramen noodles as I wrote on the small balcony of my apartment. I noticed how lighthearted my writing became as I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened today. As I closed my writing journal and computer, I thanked God for this beautiful day and prayed that I would be able to make a difference in her life somehow.
