Reasons Why I Want to Live in South Korea

*Disclaimer*

I do not want to go to South Korea just because I listen to Kpop bands, in which some of them happen to be boy bands, or that I am in search of a spouse! In fact, I plan on being single for a while now, so please step aside for this single cat lady! I also compare Eastern society to Western society and lean towards the Eastern society for reasons stated below. I love the society that I live in now and please don't think that Western society is bad, Eastern society needs just as much help!

Hello wix family!

You see that right up there? Yep! Please take the time to read that before enjoying this post, so that we can get a few things cleared up! I hope that you truly enjoy this post and that it makes you happy!

Much love and keep dreaming, Momo

1. It is my dream

I believe that I have already explained to you my "South Korean dream" to you, but for those of you who do no know, it's basically that I don't know. If I stay here, or I go to South Korea, or if I do a combination of both, it's all up to God. All I know what I have to do, is be obedient. I cannot make promises to myself and think that things will always go my way, for it's not my plan, but God's will.

Basically, these two videos made me feel a sense of home. My whole life, I struggled trying to figure my own life, when really, that's not the case. You don't have to search for a dream, it won't end well, trust me, I've been there and done one that. To make you feel better, I tried gardening, knitting, skateboarding... (almost. ><I know this one is something that's like "what are you doing, Momo? Baka Momo!" But it's ok, I cringe at my past self, I cringe at my present self, and I cringe at my future self. But you know what else? I don't care. That's not what matters. Focus on your dreams and what God wants to do, and all of those moments and people who put out your inner flame (excuse this cringe-worthy term, I know) , won't truly matter.)) I think that these come from God, and it will naturally come up on you. And don't worry if your dream comes later than expected, that's all part of the bigger picture. So, when it is the right time, God will reveal to us gifts and talents that He wants us to use for His glory on Earth. For me personally, I love helping because I feel happy when I know that I've made someone's life a bit more easier and less-stressful. I believe that this is a gift from God. I do not know for certain what will happen in the future, but all I know is that He's allowed me to have a passion for South Korea and to work "behind the cameras" at Arirang TV station for a long time now.

Who knows what God will do with this? I don't know, but if there's one thing I learned in this topic, it's that to not care what people will think. If you have the same sort of dream of me, people will think you're a bit crazy and that you're just that nerdy, awkward girl at school who has her binder covered with anime stickers and members of a Kpop group. But, you know what? Do you. Stop trying to hide it. Stop trying to be like everyone else. Do you and the right people who can recognize that precious dream inside of you will be valuable to you. Not everyone will understand you. So be courageous, my friend!

2. I love Korean Dramas and Kpop

If you haven't done so already, please check out my "Ten Reasons Why Korean Dramas Kill Me Inside" blog where I rant to you about Korean Dramas and Kpop.

The main reason why I love Korean Dramas and Kpop:

1. The Innocence in General: Nothing more than kissing/a girl and a boy can be in a room alone and nothing will happen/Korean Dramas keep the preciousness of a true romance where holding hands is considered very romantic, while in Western society, it is not the same.

2. Best Friends : Best friends are very important and are often put in front of boyfriends/girlfriends.Girls can hold hands/link arms and nothing is assumed-it is innocent.

3. Little things: Korean culture really emphasizes on the cute things in life that are often passed by. I love how girls don't grow out of headbands and cute accessories, while in Western society, that's more for little girls.

4. Romance in general: I have never seen a Korean Drama where the guy cheats on the girl, (I'm sure it's happened before, but I personally have never seen it and I've seen around 15 dramas or so) he is so loyal, does REALLY CUTE THINGS FOR HER, and dates like "White Day" exist. This is why I've lost hope in a boyfriend and can't understand why people date in high school. He has to be as great as a guy in a Korean Drama and be a Christian. And have I ever met a guy like that? Nope! Guys should really take notes, these Korean guys are amazing!

5. Kpop is generally innocent: In girl and guy groups, the music videos are generally MUCH MORE innocent than Western music videos. A kpop song is usually about a boy noticing a girl and wondering if he should approach her and is nervous about it, while in a Western song, there's a lot of songs revealing images and f bombs everywhere. Of course, Kpop isn't perfect either, but most of it is very innocent, and there are really good Western songs too.

3.Cute Things Everywhere

I will gladly give $20 to a little old lady selling cherry-blossom shaped strawberry cakes or fluffy, stuffed animal cats. South Korea focuses more on the cute accessories, while in Western society, it's not the same. In South Korea, there's ADORABLE supplies for everything! You get me if you watch anime or Korean Dramas, right?

I could go on for a while, but I don't want to bore you, so if you'd like, please check out the Youtube videos above!!!

Momo fun fact:

Whenever I work on projects/homework/blog posts, I always sit on the ground. For some reason, I am much more comfortable on hard surfaces, than sitting on a chair. That's why I like futons so much XD. What about you guys?
