Hey everyone!!!!
So, I went to Film Camp today! Being that it was my first day, I was nervous because I didn't know what to expect and who I'd meet. To start the day off, I woke up late. Yes, I woke up half an hour late, slapped on makeup, threw cherrios in a bag, and left the door. However, we did end up getting there a bit early and so I was relieved to be able to explore the campus.

To be honest, I used to complain about going to the school I do now. Going to this school, even though it may have many more opportunities for me, I felt very much like an outsider. This made me very thankful for the small school that I go to, even if I can't hide behind makeup yet. Anyways, when it was time for school to start, I walked up the very top floor and noticed that if I were here just a year or two ago, I would fangirl over the roof because it would be like I was in an anime. *cringes* But, as I looked inside, it looked amazing! There were 4K cameras scattered around the classroom, big Mac computers in rows, and a bunch of old looking cameras displayed in the back.
Honestly, I didn't expect many kids to come, but more came than I expected and I felt nervous and very "outside" of everyone. My teacher however was very nice and I think he empathized with me. I appreciate those types of teachers. Anyways, when we all settled in, he assigned us rolls and I was dumb and raised my hand to operate a $4000 camera. To make matters worse, I never pressed record and all the short, local girls around me looked so disappointed.
Since this was a four hour class, we mostly listened to our teacher explain the important stuff behind film making and got ourselves used to equipment, scriptwriting and how movies work. We even went into their studio and it was so school! What is even cooler is that we will be making a film and it will be showing at some festival.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Although I over-estimated it a bit for what I expected on my first day, I can't wait to tell you how it goes!
Much love and keep dreaming,
Momo
